Fiance and I got engaged about a year ago, and our wedding still isn’t for another year. So far I have a good chunk of the reception paid, the down payment on my photographers, and the down payment on my decorator. Today we started our wedding registry. I have a menu tasting set up and my next appointment to make is for our engagement photos.
We still have a year to go until our wedding, but I am itchy to get more done! real ready know exactly all the flowers I want and what Save the Dates and Invitations I am going to order.
So my question, bees, is am I moving too fast? I am just having so much fun and so excited that I want to keep trucking along! Should I slow my roll?

Keep moving along! Time is going to fly and the more you get done the better. Good for you for being so ahead on things!

Keep going! It’s always better to get things done in advance than waiting till the last minute!

Get as much done as you can!! I’m the same way- I am decisive, and already had a vision in my head. So I had everything planned within a few months. It’s been slow for a few months now, and this week I’m working on invitations. I’d rather the business come in little waves than in one huge one as the wedding gets closer. I’ve also picked out my accessories and the bridesmaids gifts, so I’m goign to order them next week just to cross them off the list.

Don’t apologize for having yourself together, but make sure to enjoy engagement time and stop and smell the roses along the way.

We still have over a year to go and I’ve got more than you done. I’d rather get it done now than be rushing at the end.

I’ve been feeling the same way. We got engaged back in December, and had the Venue and DJ booked by May and this week we are interviewing photographers. I’ve also been looking at save the dates, invites, flowers and bridesmaids dresses along the way. Our wedding is not for another 15 months, but sometimes I feel that I should get more stuff done right away, while other times I feel I should slow down and not do too much too fast.
I finally came realize that FI will feel better knowing that most of the really important stuff is taken care of sooner rather than later. I’m actually a procrastinator by heart so this is the one time I want to go against my nature.
I think you’re doing just fine with the pace of your planning. Good Luck! and definitely enjoy the next year of planning.

keep going – time flies! As long as you don’t think you will change your mind on anything you’ve decided on already! 🙂
