Love the ruffles, but almost wish they would come up until just under the bust or somehow be incorporated in the bust? Hmm..not sure if this would be possible, but I assume anything is possible, right? What do you ladies think of this one? I found it when searching and do very much like the soft apricot color and texture. Thought it was worth sharing. :)
@allyfally: I wasn't sure what others' reactions would be, but I really, really love the ruffles and the soft color! It's unique but not over the top and it looks like it would be great for an outdoor wedding.
I saw the title of your post and immediately thought "too funky? not possible." Then I actually saw the dress and I don't think its over the top at all, I love it! the color is subtle and the ruffles are awesome, I like that they are different from typical ruffles :)
I LOVE it! I don't think anything is ever too funky as long as its "you."
I'm not really diggin it to be honest. I'm not the biggest fan of ruffles but if you like it that's what matters.
@bohosioux: Very pretty. Would totally not be as flattering if the ruffles came up onto the bust.
@bohosioux: its very pretty and flatering on you but seems a bit quincinera or prom. More ruffles my make that connection even more obvious. better to just dress it up with accesories that scream wedding instead of fancy dress party. gorgeous flowers thought
I love the color! It's so soft and feminine. I personally aren't a fan of how harsh the creases are but love the "draped ruffled" look.
@DomesticDiva: I love the color and the ruffles! The ruching, flower and taffeta are okay. Also, the assymetrical feel is just so-so to me. I just wonder how it might look with the ruffles continuing further up onto the dress, say at one's natural waistline and at an empire waistline? If the ruffles were laying sotfly downward, I thought it might be fun to incorporate some onto the bust itself. Of course, as is, I do really like the dress. Just trying to play up the ruffles. :)
Love this pic, for example:

@subtlebee: Oh, that's not a pic of me, but of a bride who wore the dress. I just stumbled upon it online and it caught my eye. :) Very pretty flowers!
Definitely not too funky! It's beautiful. Just unique enough to add some flare but still be elegant and soft. I like it a lot, actually.
@NewYearsEve: I definitely agree that it is unique with some style, while still managing a romantic whimsical side. Also, usually the longer I look at a dress, the less I like it. With this one, it's the opposite. :)
**NEWSFLASH: IT ALSO COMES IN A LIGHT CHAMPAGNE & BLUSH PINK!!**
While I really LOVE the apricot, I can't help thinking the blush pink would be pretty, too!!

@DomesticDiva: I agree. I don't think it would be as flattering on if the ruffles went higher on the gown.
@bohosioux: The second gown you posted with the ruffles on the bust is a lighter material and has smaller ruffles. I don't think it would turn out as you envision if you tried to do the same effect on the other dress, but it is worth talking to a seamstress about it if you feel strongly about it.
I like it. I think it's only a little funky in the apricot, but then again that's what really makes it pop.
I added a fun poll regarding the dress's color and what you bees think it might look best in. :)
@MissTatas: I emailed, so we'll see what the designer suggests/recommends! I do LOVE the dress as is, but would be curious to see what other options she could offer. I love the shape the dress has and certainly think it adds a bit of sexiness that more ruffles might take away from.
I love the apricot! Now I want to find more apricot dresses to oggle, haha
@MabelleBliss: I was googling different off-white shades when I came across this beauty! I love how soft and bridal it is without having to be "white" (doesn't flatter my skin tone), but there were very few apricot dresses and this one really impressed me! Apricot + Ruffles = <3 :)
I LOVE the color but I am personally not a fan of the skirt....It reminds me of an accordian on the bottom but that's just me. But I love the top and the color but not digging the bottom.
The second I saw that dress I knew exactly who made it! Erin is amazing and I'm sure if you decided to have her make your dress you will love it. She made my one of a kind dress with almost no instruction from me and I love how it turned out.
@novacaineandlaughter: Awesome!! I found the dress on a blog, followed it to etsy and then to a bridal shop who sells the stuff in Missouri. Too fun! :)
Sure, I can post them in an hour when I get home, I'm on my cell phone right now.
@novacaineandlaughter: I just got done stalking your previous posts and saw the dress. Very cute! Tea length dresses are some of my favorites!
@bohosioux Thank you and good luck with your dress search!
**FUN IDEA??** What about adding a halter neckline or custom bolero with the ruffle material? That sounds fantastic to me!! What says you? :)
Cute bolero examples whilst browsing etsy (just for visual purposes, not necessarily best suited):

Or...altering the neckline more to a v-neck sweetheart and using something like this would be adorable:

LOVE how this is looking!!
Talk about awesome. I so so so love this dress! Rock it, girl.
