So we’ve been engaged for almost 2 years now. The wedding is coming up in September. I recently contacted my Photog to set up a meeting to go over wedding day details and she threw out the idea of using our free engagement shoot session before the big day. I completely forgot we had one!!!
We are having a photo matte guest book at the wedding and still don’t have a picture for the middle. I was thinking this would be the perfect oppurtunity to get one and we get to hang out with our photographer before the big day to get used to being in front of the camera..
Do you all think it’s too late to do this? With only 3 months to go…

I dont think its too late, where you planning to do something specific with the photos, if not then its definitely not too late

It’s definitely not too late! I do photography and am doing engagement photos in July for a friend who is getting married in september. Last month I did engagement photos for a girl who is getting married at the end of June. In my opinion you don’t even need to use them for anything if you don’t want to, it’s just nice to have photos in that time period when you were engaged.

I don’t think its too late. We did ours last week and we are getting married next week. It’s nice to have professional pictures of us, we putting them in the enterance of the venue by the signing table. If you can use it for your signing book then thats great!
I also recommend it because like you said, you get more comfortable in front of the camera and you get used to your photographer, and it gives him/her an extra chance to get to know a bit more of your personalitly.

Nope. I think you should do it!

Definitely not too late! You might want to let your photographer know that you need the high res pics back as soon as possible though so that you have time to arrange the book and get it ordered/delivered. 🙂 My photographer was pretty fast about it, but I’ve read some stories from other brides where it wasn’t that fast.
Also, I’d agree with @Mrs.H2B: in that even if you don’t use them for anything particular at the wedding, it’s nice to have those pictures. And as you mentioned, it’s a GREAT chance to get to know your photographer and break the ice for the wedding. After our engagement shoot, I found that my photographer is a fan of tilted or angled pictures – which I’m NOT a big fan of. So I requested that he refrain from those types of pictures at our wedding (or at least make sure that there was always a straight on version as well so that I could pick which style I liked best for that particular picture) and he was happy to do so. We had very few tilted pictures and I was very glad I’d found out about that prior to the wedding! lol

I don’t think it is too late at all. My girlfriend is getting married about a month before you and she just did her engagement pictures, it is perfectly fine.

I agree with PPs. It is only too late to do e-pice if you are already married! LOL
We are getting married in October, and due to scheduling and re-scheduling issues, we will not do our e-pics until July.
