STD's are definitely not necessary. They're very helpful for out of town guests---but since you have a lot of local people, you do not need them! And you can send your invites out anywhere from 6-8 weeks prior to the big day. Since you're not including STDs maybe you should learn towards 8 weeks prior. Goodluck and stick around the Bee---you'll find lots of support and help here!
Hi Sweetheart! Welcome to the hive. You've come to the right place for advice.
First of all try not to stress. You're doing great so far if all the vendors are booked. Like VirginiaMarie said, STD's are not necessary. Just send out your invitations towards the end of April and you will be fine.
Do you have invites picked out?
Thank you Virginia Marie for the advice! You have put my mind at ease! I have an appointment tomorrow to order my invitations...no more procrastinating for me!! This is my Spring Break and I need to do AS MUCH AS I CAN during my week off! Today my mom and I bought small cake plates, forks for plates, cups for beer, glasses for wine, and my guestbook. Tomorrow my main focus is to order invitations and to meet with my wedding decorator. Wednesday my fiance and I are meeting with our travel agent and booking our honeymoon. My dress comes in on Thursday, so I will go for my first fitting. I'm sure there are more things I need to do, but I just can't think right now! It is 1:15 a.m. in Texas right now and I am awake stressing about this when I should be in bed.
I think this would have been a lot easier if it wasn't my first year of teaching (first year is always the hardest) and if my fiance didn't work 60 hours a week...
So I really do appreciate any help that you give me! Thank you for writing me back! I really do appreciate it!
Hi Charm bracelet! Thank you for responding to my thread! Do you think I should send some sort of engagement picture along with our invitations since I won't be sending out any Save-the-Dates?
Welcome to the Bee! It sounds like you are getting yourself into good shape for the wedding. I don't think it's necessary at all to include e-pics with your invitation. If you really love your e-pics, you can incorporate them into your wedding day or thank you cards - lots of options!

I am getting married on June 26, 2010 and I still have not sent out Save-the-Dates! Even though I have been procrastinating, most of our guests live in our hometown and nearby surrounding areas. The only person coming from out of state is his sister, and she's known about the wedding since we set the date.
Is it still necessary for me to send Save-the-Dates or can I just send out the invitations? I have the rest of March, April, and the beginning of May to send out the invitations. When would be a good month to send out the invitations????
HELP ME PLEASE! I NEED ADVICE! I just turned 23 years old last week and my fiance doesn't help me much with wedding planning because he is basically a WORKAHOLIC! I have everything we need booked. The only thing that is really stressing me out are the Save-the-Dates and the invitations.
I don't know who to turn to because my friends are still single "living it up" or they have boyfriends. I am the first one to get married from our group of friends.
