I know what you mean, I just got engaged this Friday after being together for four years. I am also 34 and dont want to have a long engagement. I dont know where to start. :(
Here's an old post about pink and green weddings:

you can use cylinder vases, drop in an LED light, cover with some river rock or crystals and top with a pomander. You can add ribbon trim in green and/or black.

or use a taller vase with just the pomander

glass cylinder fileld with water and submerged orchids ( you can use different flowers) and topped with a pomander
I like those - if it's any help - here is a link to my venue. It is a restored 1925 Firehouse - complete with the original brass fireman pole and original bay doors.

You should be able to search by color for centerpieces. Unfortunetely it just takes time. I spent a good 2 weeks JUST seaching pics, then more time going over what pics i liked, then more time deciding what was withen budget. I am doing a cylinder vase, 24" tall with a 4-5 inch opening. A 2 1/2 inch black satin ribbon along the bottom. A white ribbon in the middle of that and a thin pink ribbon around that. Im going to alternate vases. Some tables will have 3 cala lillies in it and some will have a 3 foot manzanita branch in it with 5 full length cala lillies accenting it. I will try to upload my mock up pics. good luck hun. breathe! it cann be done!
@julies1949:cute pics, these look like great simple DIY centerpieces

Ok - so we just got engaged in late Sept but due to my fi work schedule we had the choice to either get married this coming March or wait almost a year and a half...I'm 34...I'm not waiting that long...so we are fast and furiously planning this wedding which now has me overwhelmed as my work is at it's crazy time.
Most all decor will have to be DIY just due to budget, colors are pink and apple green with touches of black/white. I have a ceremony/reception location, a caterer, a photog and a band....I'm stuck at centerpieces.....there are too many. and I've seen some I liked but I forgot to save the page or the picture and now I can't find them :(
I like the idea of tall, something lighted, possibly with a pomander. Does anyone have any really nice DIY ones they've seen or done.
