- Wedding: December 2012
I’ve got a little bit of a dilemma, and I’m hoping the bees can help me out!! We originally had 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen:
Maid/Matron of Honor F – my cousin, practically my sister
Bridesmaid or Best Man K – a great friend
Bridesmaid or Best Man H – my oldest friend
Future Sister-In-Law J – FH’s half sister
Future Sister-In-Law K – FH’s step sister
Bridesmaid or Best Man J – FH’s closest cousin
Groomsmen T – another of FH’s cousins, Bridesmaid or Best Man K’s boyfriend
Groomsmen A – a good friend of FH
Groomsmen D – an old friend of FH
Groomsmen N – FH’s roommate
Just wanted to give a list to hopefully make this a little easier. Everything was planned out, Bridesmaid or Best Man K and Groomsmen T were going to walk together because they are dating and that makes sense, Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man would walk together, Future Sister-In-Law J is from out of town, so she was going to walk with Groomsmen D since he’s one of the only ones she knows… Just things like that, everything was worked out perfectly.
Well… Future Sister-In-Law K is causing a lot of problems in their family and long story short she may not be in the wedding now.
So that brings my to my question! If I only have 4 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen… How does that work? I’ve heard of having more Bridesmaid or Best Man than Groomsmen and a guy walks with a girl on each arm, and that seems cute, but it seems like it would be a little weird the other way around! I also know there’s the option of having the best man walk with the groom and then I would have an equal amount… But then how do I decide which guy gets to walk with the maid of honor? And how would they walk coming back?
Has anyone been in this situation, with more Groomsmen than BM? Any advice or suggestions are much appreciated!!!!
