Question: I am wearing a one shoulder wedding gown:
Would it be too much to do one shoulder Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses? I love this one for my April beach wedding: (also, it is the opposite shoulder)
Edit: Would love to see pics if anyone else has done one shoulder with one shoulder BMs!

I think that is gorgeous!

Those are lovely bridesmaids dresses–but I would do something different. You want your dress to stand out.

I think its fine to do a one shoulder Bridesmaid or Best Man dress even though your wedding dress is one shoulder. I think both dresses are pretty and I think the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses will be nice for the beach. I think the dresses look like a breath of fresh air and are modest and classy. I don’t think it matters that the Bridesmaid or Best Man one shoulders are actually in fact the opposite shoulder. Don’t over think it. In 20, 30 or 40 years, you’ll look back and love your dresses and the fact that the BM’s strap is on the other shoulder won’t even cross your mind. At all.

My wedding gown is also a one-shoulder and my bridesmaids (other than my Maid/Matron of Honor who will have a two-shouldered(?)/regular dress) will have sweetheart sleeveless dresses so mine is “different” because I was also afraid of too many one-shouldered dresses!

In all honesty, the only thing I don’t like about it is that the strap is on the opposite shoulder. If they were all on the same side, it would look very clean and uniform. I know the bride’s supposed to stand out and be different, but I’m thinking for pictures and such where the line won’t flow the same. It’s like when everyone’s standing facing left, but one person is facing right. Or when there’s one dancer using the opposite leg in a kick line. I dunno. To me, it looks off in my head.
I do think that having BMs dresses with one strap as well will look perfectly fine, though. I’m just strange and like the look of them all facing the same direction.

@HonoraryNerd: I agree with your assessment.

I think those bridesmaids dresses would compliment your gown nicely, and that you will certainly still standout. You will be the only one in a long, white wedding gown.
