so for my wedding I have a maid of honor and a matron of honor, and my fiance has 2 best men...is that gonna drive people crazy with so many speeches?? I already said to keep them short, but i dont wanna take up too much of my dancing time with all the other stuff you have to do! anyone else have this same situation or have been to a wedding where there was this many speeches? any sugestions?

I've been to weddings with way more speeches than that! It's nice, actually, if the people you've invited to speak actually have nice, sweet things to say. :) Your guests will still enjoy it!

To me it totally depends on when you plan to have them speak.  I've been to weddings with more speeches but because they were done in between courses, it didn't seem too time consuming.  On the other hand, I've been to weddings where they only had 2 or 3 speeches that ran too long and were all done at the same time.

Four well placed, timely speeches seems fine to me.

I think it all depends on the timing.  I've been to weddings with more than that and it was fine because the speeches were worked in between courses, during dinner or during the dancing breaks the band took.

I've been to a few weddings where the order of things was totally different and worked out the best i've seen it.  They would have a welsome speech, then the first course, then some dancing and maybe another speech.  then another course, then some more dancing and some more speeches and so on.  So the whole night integrated all the elements of the wedding.  It was really fun and seemed more natural as opposed to how most weddings are divided into dinner and then dancing.  To me it always feels like it's too scheduled, (like "now we  eat.  now we dance")

Between the MOH, BM, parents, and our thank you, we had 5 short speeches. We spaced them out throughout the dinner so that it wasn't too overwhelming, and it worked out fine.

We're kind of going to leave it as an open floor for any one of our 8 in the bridal party and my dad.  BUT there is a strict time limit of a one minute max.  His family likes to give little prayer-like toast things.  So, I think it will be some of that.
