I have decided on pink and brown as my wedding colors.  My bridesmaids are going to wear brown dresses and carry pink roses.  The guys will most likely wear black tuxes with brown vests.  For the reception, I am thinking of renting brown tablecloths.  Is that going to be too much brown?  Should I just stick with white tablecloths instead?

I am trying to figure out this exact same question. I guess it matters how much you are going to break up the color scheme with pink. And remember there will be a lot on the table than just the tablecloths- think of all the dinnerware and the centerpieces. I think if other elements are pink (and maybe some white or ivory) you should be ok.

I think brown table cloths will look great and add a richness to the room.  Just make sure that there are other things on the tables to break up the brown, (pink flowers, gold chargers, etc).

Could you do white/ivory table clothes over brown and just have them rotated so that you see the brown corners between the white corners?  That way you still have the brown accent.   Or maybe you can do pink on some tables, brown on others? It really depends what else is around and brown, are the walls or carpet brown? are the chairs brown? If so that might be too much.

I don't think that it will be too much if you, as Miss Peeptoe stated, break the colors up :) Good luck

It should be fine if you break up the colors like the others have said.  I was worried about the same thing, so I actually used champagne tableclothes and I loved how it turned out..let me know if you want to see photos.

Perhaps when you go to pick out linens, wear a bronw dress (or a brown top) and see what it kind of looks like all together?

Hi!  My wedding colors were brown/gold/and ivory.  My BM dresses were brown and I also had brown table cloth overlay.  More specifically we had ivory table cloths that were floor length and a chocolate brown overlay that dropped midway between the table top and floow.  Does this make sense?  It was not too much brown and trust me on this because I had 40 tables.  Too add some color I had a colorful centerpiece and everything turned out really well.  I don't have any pictures yet as my wedding was just last week.  HTH!

I think it will be great! It will add glamour and richness. I hope the walls/windows are a bit lighter though for contrast.

Thank you all!  Lillindy, thanks for the link to the pics.  It's nice to know this has worked out well for others.  Too much brown? : wedding Icon Biggrin

I have the exact color scheme, down to the BM dresses/flowers and GM tuxes (black and brown). I am using a brown table linen with an ivory organza overlay. I am also using pink floral centerpieces and pink napkins with gold framed table numbers, white/gold dinnerware and gold chivari chairs. I haven't seen it all together yet, but I think it will look great! I agree with the others, as long as you add in some other colors with florals, napkins, dinnerware, etc., it will look great!
