Do you think there is such a thing? Lately, I've been feeling super overwhelmed with all the ideas floating in my head, bookmarks and inspiration folders. I'm having trouble sorting out what my day is even going to look like! Inspiration overload for me!

    Anyone else experienced this?

Oh yeah! For me it's happened with dresses and the reception. I find it extremely helpful to stop collecting, go through what I already have, and cleanse; all the mediocre, halfhearted, overcomplicated, or expensive ideas that don't have any place in my wedding go out. Whatever's left is the essence of what I'm trying to get at, so I keep 'em and continue refining when I don't feel so overloaded!

I definitely am suffering through the same thing.  I have so many random ideas in my head and I tried to bookmark everything but then it becomes so much that I wonder if I'll ever get back to them.  What I did over the weekend was sketch and write down some of my ideas in my sketch book just so I don't have to keep it in my head anymore.  It is quite overwhelming.  I'd like to hear how everyone keeps everything organized!

    Hey toothfairyb,

I think there is such a thg! Actually,I did experience smtg similar! Lols! I think i was sooooooooooooo excited to plan a wedding, especially since my wedding will be less thn a yr from my engagement. All day I'd browse thru wedding sites & hv loads of ideas till well, the ideas clash! Hahah!

Initially,i'd wanted a small outdoor wedding,an all-white outdoor wedding with gazebos, thn it changed to a vintage outdoor wedding...In the end,the idea changed so much now and transformed to be come an entirely different kind...an indoor reception for 1000pax! I know...whoa!

Give it some time...let the ideas all settle & find out what u really, really want at ur wedding! I do now know what I want. I just need to finalize the details.. Wld love to hear fr u!

    xoxo,

    lala

This definitly happened to me at the beginning of my wedding planning. I collected SO many pics in magazines and online and I wasnt 100% sure what I wanted. I went through all the photos and took out ones that werent "us". Alot of the photos I found I though were pretty or different, but when it came down to it they did not define me or my fiance. I kept on cutting out photos and eventually it helped me decide exactly what we wanted. Now when I look through things I no longer get overwhelmed because I know exactly what im looking for and not everything appeals to me anymore. Try not to get overwhelmed and try to use what you have to decide on what exactly you want for your wedding.

This definitely happened to me as well - I'd never seen wedding blogs and websites before, and when I started surfing for inspiration it seemed like every site had links to 20 other beautiful sites and I would never have a chance to see it all. I loved so many of the ideas I saw that it made me want to plan several weddings just to incorporate my favorites.

Since then, I've learned to remind myself that seeing and loving a photo on a blog does not mean I have to do it myself. I can just appreciate it for a bit and move on.

LOL!! Oh yeah baby!! I think it's one of the reasons I started preplanning and a reason i want a shorter engagement... I'm deathly afraid to get overwhelmed because i freak out and shut down.  i have been pretty stoic on a few things that i want and thankfully they will be within my budget. i am sort of ready to get everything done and over with so that we can move on with it and just be done with everything. i saw the surprise wedding/engagement party post and love the idea so much that i'm thinking this may be EXACTLY what i'll do.

I completely understand!  I feel the same way!  I originally wanted a destination wedding somewhere tropical and now I am having a wedding in Manhattan (where our families live).  So, my initial vision for my wedding had to be completely changed!  I also feel like I have too many ideas, and that I am not able to focus!  You are not alone!  I would suggest to pick a theme.  Not like jungle themed or anything silly like that.  But, for example "modern chic" or "vintage rustic" and whatever doesn't fit into that vision, get ride of!  At least that is what I am trying to do right now and it seems to be helping!

Totally felt the EXACT same way this time last month. I finally figured out a way that would best incorporate "us" with all the cute inspirational things I had found (want a hint? look at my username!!!). Don't worry, it will all work itself out!
