How old is too old to wear the big white dress down the aisle?  Or even a slim white dress?

    Honest answers only please!

    Thanks

I agree, you are never too old!  Depending on age people can find different styles to suit them but they can still be all white!

seriously, never too old.  maybe at 103 years old you might want a slimmer cut gown so that everyone doesn't have to worry about the bride tripping, falling and breaking a hip...

I would say it doesn't matter. But my FMOH just got married 3ish years ago and wore a blue dress. Not sure if that's a tradition for older brides everywhere, or just in Europe, though.

I dont think I would want to rule out dresses based on age, some women look a lot younger than others. I do think you should wear clothes (any clothes, incl wedding dresses) to suit your body shape, skin tone and age. I cant wear the same clothes i wore when I was 21 in the same way i wouldn't wear the same wedding dress as someone who was 10 years younger than me.

I guess if you put on a dress and feel silly, or inappropriate then maybe that dress is not for you, only you can be the judge of that.

My aunt got married at age 56 last year, and looked radiant in a traditional ivory dress. I don't think one is ever too old.

Your never too old! I would just say the style of dress matures. Like I wouldn't recommend a shorter dress showing cleavage if your +60!

I agree there are some styles that are less appropriate when you are a more mature bride (of course a lot of the ones that would be odd on an older bride I don't think anyone should wear because no one wants to see the brides boobs, butt or bare belly, but that is just me) but if you are happy in your big princess gown in all it's bright white glory, then do it! I would maybe laugh, good naturedly, if I knew some 70 year old woman getting married in a giant poofy dress...but still if she wanted to rock it who am I to stop her?

I personally think princess-like ball gowns look a bit "young.". But, I think anyone can look fantastic in a gown that works for their body.

Now you have to spill it...what dresses are you considering?

If you feel beautiful, it doesn't matter what you are wearing or what color.  Go for what you want!

Never. I think if you find a dress and it makes you feel beautiful, then that should be the dress you wear. It doesn't matter if you're 18 or 98, love happens anytime and why should someone be denied their dream because they're supposedly "too old"?
