You’re so close!  My work had a lunch planned for me as well but baby came before it, lol! So, we did it after and I got to bring baby.  So yes, with 6 days to go baby can come at any time!  I was worried about my water breaking at work, too since I worked up until I went into labor. I did hear that most women’s water breaks at night though, which made me feel better. Mine broke at 12:45 AM and pretty much everyone I know’s water also broke in the middle of the night if it even did.  Alot of women’s water doesn’t break at all, and often it isn’t a big messy gush!  Mine was a tiny trickle. I barely noticed. I woke up in the middle of the night to it and when I went to the bathroom i could barely see it and thought I had dreamed it! You’ll be just fine, good luck! You’re about to embark on the most amazing experience of your life, enjoy it! 🙂

eecuadrado:  He could be here any time!!!!! It was so funny because that Wednesday I made no progress and then Thursday my boss was heckling me in fornt of everyone about my “false hope” of being farther along. She’s like, “You have a while yet. You haven’t even dropped!” Yeah, 4 days later my son was here and between that time I didn’t “drop.” I still don’t know how my belly could have droped any more. If it would have, it would’ve been between my knees, lol. You just never know when it’s going to happen, and its even crazier when you’re waiting for this big water show and it never comes, so you’re counting contractions wondering “is this it??”

That was awesome of your coworkers to have lunch and gifts for you too. Work is having a baby shower for me on the 3rd. DH’s work planned it for this week, but they had to move it. Not sure when it is, but I am overwhelmed by everyone. My work has been nothing but wonderful…cards on my desk, signs on my door, lots of welcome back phone calls. It’s bee great.

eecuadrado:  Awww I remember this! My son is 9 now but I worked up until 2 days before I had him. I did have a dramatic water breaking. in the car on the way to the hospital (I had been having contractions for about 6 hours or so at that point) I heard a loud pop. I panicked and was yelling about how that was probably his head coming out lol. I was seriously freaked out. Well when I stood up to get out of the car at the hospital there was just a big old splash of fluid that went all over my jeans and the sidewalk. It was very dramatic. Even though Im sur eyou’re nervous, enjoy this as much as possible! this kind of excitement is one of a kind!

eecuadrado:  the smell! It was very sweet smelling. when I called the on cs doc he wasn’t convinced since it was a trickle and nothing else but I knew once contractions started. When I went to the hospital (8 hours later! I was afraid I was going to get sent home for false labor since the doc wasn’t convinced) they didn’t think my water broke either until they saw ferning. Ended up being a high leak and hadn’t broke fully. The doc broke it with his hand either at my last cervix check or while pushing (I forget!)
