This is what happens when FI becomes involved in wedding planning ....

NOTE: We are gettting married at the JP and having a restaurant reception

FI- So groomsmen x and I were talking and we would like to wear top hats and carry canes

Me- I think thats a little too formal for our wedding

FI- So what! They are awesome!

Me- Maybe you guys can have them for props in pictures....

FI- Ok if you say so (proceeds to get a sad pouty face)

Haha! Too cute! I had to convince my FI that he couldn't wear the tux/shabby hat combo from a new anime he's been watching. It helped that he couldn't find anywhere to get it from.

Awww...FI wanted a fedora and cane.  I told him not all the guys will like a fedora but if they could rock it, sure...but not during formal photos.  We then went to MW and THANKFULLY when FI saw a pic of their fedoras he asked the girl if they were popular.  She was like, 'Yeah...for proms' lol.  He then decided to nix that idea!

haha FI wanted a top hat and tails - what is it about weddings that makes boys want to wear ridiculous formal wear like top hats?!

Just the other night we had a similar convo. Although it was I who was proposing the accessories. It progressed into discussing Regency period attire, which now he wants to rock. I'm tempted to 1) because I can and 2) I can live out my Pride & Prejudice fantasies. :P

You might think he was joking but this is coming from the man that bought and wears an ascot to dinner. Flippin' <3 him.

My FH asked if top hats would be considered 'too dressy' for a casual, laid back wedding and all I said was "If you're getting a black one, then I better damn well get a white one!"
