I voted for Pachelbel but that is because that is what I'm using for my processional...so i may be a TAD biased :)
Pachelbel just makes me think "wedding". It is so beautiful. Oh and the cathedral is gorgeous!
I forgot to add that...the cathedral is stunning!!! a dream wedding local :)
Thanks girls! I like pachelbel too, but my mom hates it and says it sounds "somber"...? Hm. As far as the cathedral goes, it is a bit over the top for me, but it sits on this huge lawn where FI and I met while playing a game of soccer...;) Too many happy memories to not get married there.

Oh wow! That really is beautiful. What a great story too...makes it that much better!
Holy cow, that cathedral is AWESOME. Almost makes me want to go totally out of my character and beliefs system and have the church wedding FI's parents want...
I voted for Clarke because I can't listen to Pachelbel's without thinking graduation.
Hey Vegan- Here's the best part: Non denominational! It's a university owned "chapel"! We're having FI's great uncle marry us, he's just a JP!
OMG WHAT.
Where can I find one of those?! I wonder if there are any non-denominational chapels that epic in NYC...
Hmm, possibly. NYC has it all. You're in grad schools, no? The older universities have GREAT chapels... Cornell? Side note: Harvard has a really neat one with tons of history
**silly me, i meant columbia. But Cornell has a neat one too!
No not grad school yet. :( We're both in our fourth years, about to head into our fifth years as undergrads, but FI is a New Yorker born and raised and we would LOVE to be in the city for grad school. So we're gettin' hitched there.
Great, just when I thought I had this venue business all figured out, my plans come crashing down...
I am an unequivocal Clark fan but if it's for your birdesmaids instead of you (the bride) I would go with the Pachelbel. What a gorgeous cathedral... I am a bit jealous ;-)
Thanks EM!
Hey Vegan---check out St. Paul's at Columbia (I know it says "st" but wikipedia says it is used for all different religions)...
I say Clarke because it isn't used quite as often, but they are both pretty. Pachelbel reminds me almost to much of Father of the Bride. Both are so pretty though!
What about the processional from Sound of Music? starting at the dun da dun, about 6 counts in... :P

Edit: I misread your post. I thought you needed one.... either would be good for the bridesmaids. :) I like them both for that. :)
I absolutely love Pachelbel's Canon!! I play the violin, so I love playing it too :)
I like pachebel...
It sounds like people can just float on clouds down the aisle.. you know?
As someone who is going to university for music, I say go with Clarke. Pachelbel's Canon in D is (sorry ladies who love it!) incredibly overdone, I absolutely do not like it. Pachelbel made such great OTHER music and it's never recognized, poor guy.
all i can say (because i love both songs, so i'm no help there) is that the cathedral may be a little 'over the top' according to your mom, but MAN the pictures you are going to get in there! holy i'm jealous already.
@everyone--THANKS for the suggestions!
@TWALILIA---YES!!! It is!!!!!!! Pitt alum here!
i voted Pachelbel just because i am going to be walking using it in the State Capitol :)

We're getting married in huge, gothic cathedral (As pictured below!) We can only use their massive organ for our ceremony music. I am torn for our processional march. CLARKE or PACHELBEL. I will walk to the traditional Wagner.
What do YOU think the girls should walk to? Clarke? Pachelbel?
