I have been looking for a venue in or near Toronto and need some help. An ideal venue would be:
-unique, we are going for whimsical, intimate, but rich in details. Our theme is A Midsummer Nights Dream, so think faerie queen wedding, sort of ethereal and otherwordly.
-outdoor ceremony and possibly outdoor reception, close to nature, woods and water prefered…. but also the option of going indoors if the weather is dissagreeable. Maybe an old castle like manor on large grounds
We were thinking of something like the Kortright Center, but a little less rustic.
Thanks guys 🙂

What about Fantasy Farms?
Toronto Botanical Garden?

I would look into the McMichael Art Gallery but if I remember correctly their price was a little higher than we were looking to pay. You can also check out The Manor by Peter and Pauls, Graydon Hall, or Eaton Hall (depending on the number of guests).
Black Creek Pioneer Village has a beautiful event space and they also offer an outdoor covered venue with gardens.

Old Mill is actually reasonably priced. I am getting married there, and their base package, which is all we were looking for is less than $100 pp for dinner, and open bar…. this was one of the only places my budget obsesed FI agreed upon LOL.
Toronto Botanical Gardens is beautiful, but quite pricey, based on what was sent to me when I was scouting.
Anotther place to look into, if you are doing a smaller wedding, is The Doctor’s House in Kleinberg.
I hope you find your perfect venue!

I mean we had ours at the Berkeley Fieldhouse…..it’s got indoor/outdoor space with greenery and a small creek running through it. It’s kinda whimsical with a ton of character and its quite reasonably priced considering where it is and what’s included.
It’s also intimate and has a lot of unique details. I loved it

@peaseblossom: How have you made out finding somewhere? We went to McMichael today and I adore it, I’m terrified to learn the price.

@peaseblossom: There’s a beautiful place in Pickering called the Lake House. It’s right on the lake (haha, obv.) and beautiful. Not too sure about the ceremony space, but their basic “stuff” includes beautiful chiavari chairs which means less money spent on linens, etc.

We checked out quite a few places. The Kortright center was beautiful and we also checked out the Old Mill and McMichael Gallery.
Ultimately we went with Ancaster Mill which is really lovely and has a beautiful outdoor ceremony space. 🙂
