my best friend and i are both planning our weddings, and we have commented sooo many times that we are totally in the wrong business. it's a total money-maker.
hang in there, chica!
I was outraged at the $2 cake cutting fee per person at my reception. That's almost $400 to cut cake. Lucky for me we got out of it because we are having mini cupcakes :-P no cutting ;-).
i swear i am going into the wedding business when i retire.
@theeekingeek - LMAO nice way around that one!! :)
I KNOW! Tablecloths? Seriously, just to rent is insane. Im buying mine but its still crazy, hopefully i can resell them tho.
Linens are insanely expensive. To rent them was going to be at least $30 a table--way more than I wanted to pay for table cloths, especially when we get nice white ones for free. Although I did go for renting Chiavari chairs
--the chairs at our venue are just too butt ugly to NOT change! I think they have a plan going with chair rental companies, because there is no other reason I can think of that they haven't just replaced those ugly chairs with nice ones/chiavari chairs!
theeekingeek - double check their cake cutting policy - our venue said even if we do cupcakes they will still charge us the normal cutting fee because they still need to plate them and set them out! laaaaaame....
I got mine for $5 each, 120 inches, at efavormart.com. Try there, they came really fast too and there was free shipping.
@daydreamwanderer We did decide to call and ask. However, they had neglected to tell us that detail. All they told us was if you use our baker there is no cake cuttin fee if you don't then there will be a cake cutting fee. I called and explained I had no cake to cut and they didn't call it a "you didn't use our baker fee" and that it was a cake cutting fee and I have no cake to cut. They decided not to charge me for it. There is no way I'd be paying that much for cutting a cake that doesn't exist to cut! :-P That has been one of the only battles I have picked so far.
