After two completely lackluster bridal appointments I discovered that my true passion lies with bridesmaid dresses! They’re flowy, as opposed to the big crunchy wedding dresses i tried, are much more comfortable to me, and – here’s the kicker – you can have your pick of any for under $200! YESSSSS
The worst part about budget dress shopping is that you have to buy either online so you can’t try it on or wait around for a sale and HOPE they have you size. And they don’t. Ever. So yeah. I’m all flavors of happy. Glee <3
Oh and bridesmaid dresses can totally be dyed white, silver, ivory, cream, or any other variation of white I want. Or not! ;P A canary yellow wedding dress may just be in the future for MadameLady. Ugh it feels so good when plans finally come together.
Anyone else doing a bridesmaid dress?

Great idea! There are so many options to choose from!

Yeah, me too, probably. I already bought 5 wedding dresses ( didn’t spend much money on them, so it’s ok), then i decided to order a Watters inspired custom dress from China, looks horrible. And then i found the perfect dress, again on Ebay, a WTOO bridesmaid dress! I’m waiting for it to arrive, but i am absolutely sure that it is going to be perfect, and hopefully be THE dress, finally. I don’t think it’s weird to wear a BM dress. There are lots of wedding and BM dresses that have the same style and shape, and no “normal person” (someone who doesn’t spend that much time looking for a dress like us) would be able to see the difference. And as you already said a bridesmaid dress is much cheaper than a wedding dress.
So this is mine, but in white and no ribbon:

Sounds like an awesome plan! Most bridesmaid dresses are just sleek bridal gowns in various colors!

Both dresses are gorgeous! One of the local wedding magazines (I think it was northern NE) showcased a wedding where the bride wore a bridesmaid gown. She looked great and I’m sure you ladies will too.

I think it’s a really great idea, especially if you want something flowy. I wanted a ballgown, so it wouldn’t have worked for me, but believe me, I totally considered it too! 🙂
