Haha!  That’s too funny.

We’re actually having a friend officiate our wedding.  Have you considered that?  …Maybe you have someone you know who looks like Mr. Rogers?  Or you could just give them a nice sweater and call it a day. Smile

My friend had her grandpa officiate her wedding… That’s as close as it gets to Mr. Rogers that I can think of ๐Ÿ˜‰

lol! In my experience, all the secular officiants are boring or are so over the top you’d think they’re drunk.

I see 2 options here:

1. Get a Mr. Rogers family member or friend to get ordained & perform the ceremony.

2. (Continuing the theme of being totally ridiculous) Buy this, neighbor!!!

That’s amazing! haha. At this point, we don’t have any set criteria…other than it can’t be the guy FI knows I can’t stand. lol. We’re quickly running out of options, though!

Oh! It’s too bad you live in California, we just hired an officiant (Bill Cochran, Sayidoyourway.com) and he kind of reminds me of Mr. Rogers, but I don’t think he would go all the way across the country…

One of of friends is getting ordained and is going to marry us.  I didn’t want to be stuck with with a cheezy secular officant.

Very old thread, but I would LOVE being married by Mr. Rogers. I cried like a freakin’ baby the day he died, and (okay, this is bad) I totally recognize “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” Day, March 20, which is a day to remember Mr. Rogers’ legacy by being a good neighbor and wearing a sweater!

I can’t get over how much people charge to be your officiant.  My FI got ordained online last summer to be the officiant for friends of ours– I told him if either one of us gets laid off, we can open up a business charging upwards of $300 a pop for a 20 minute ceremony!! Insane.

I am thinking a friend is going to be the less cheesy and more economical choice.
