I am really looking forward to giving and receiving gifts from each other on our wedding day. It’s one of my favorite pictures to look at and it will be something to look forward to. I had a gift all picked out, when I thought I should make sure FI wants to do the gift exchange too. 🙂 He said yes, but he put some restrictions on it. 1) It has to be under $5. 2) It has to be something that represents our relationship. Now things got tough.
I have a couple ideas, but nothing that seems brilliant. I was going to get him a coffee travel mug (we drink a lot of coffee and he actually poured coffe on my lap on our first date…nervous!). We met pheasant hunting. We go to a lot of sporting events together and I still have all out ticket stubs. Not sure what I can do with those. Any brilliant ideas? Our wedding is next weekend, so something needs to happen quick! Ask any questions you want and any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!!

What if you make him a scrapbook page with blank spaces for a wedding pic and honeymoon pic and then also have one picture of you two dating? Sort of like a before and after thing?
You can get these items pretty cheap from a Michaels or other craft store and then put it together 🙂 And then when you are married you can start the book together as something to do!
Stickers (coffee, hunting, letters, sports, etc)- around $2 (I think you will pay more for the entire sticker package, but you can itemize the cost to make it under 5. Like if a page costs $1 and has 10 stickers and you use 2, it cost 20 cents)
Plastic cover- $1
Including ticket stubs and photos- free!
Then you just need a glue stick!

That crossed my mind. I wasn’t sure how a guy would react to getting a scrapbook…I should do something with all our ticket stubs…

why don’t you just write him a heart felt letter? $5 is not much to work with.

WHat was the gift you had picked out beforehand?

Picture frame paper mached with your ticket stubs?
Can you tell us more about you guys and about your wedding?

Try something like a polymer clay charm. It is cheap, cute and can go in his keychain. I saw this coffee one on etsy. I know that it has to come in qick so maybe you don’t have time to buy and have it shipped but what if you MAKE it. It does not have to be a coffee, you can do anything if you have the sculpting skills. Just google polymer clay and buy it at the craft store.

@anna4041: If you had more time, I’d say to get a coffee mug made with photos of the two of you or the ticket stubs – I like the ones from Snapfish. However, I don’t know if you have enough time for that…
Instead, what about getting one of those travel coffee mugs that has a slot where you can insert a photo? I’ve seen them at the Dollar Tree, but you could probably get a better quality one elsewhere. Instead of adding a photo, maybe you could make a collage with the ticket stubs and then make a color photocopy to insert into the mug? (I’d save the real ticket stubs in case the mug leaks or something). Then you could put a cute note in the mug about your first date and all the fun you’ve had since?

Why not a scrap book of all your ticket stubs? Do you have pictures from any of the events? My SO and I are always saying we’re going to put a scrapbook together of all the college football games we’ve been to in the last 4 seasons, but we’ve never gotten around to it.

@ 78h20-I love the mug with pic ideas. I was just going to get him a mug and then a card saying why coffee always reminded me of him.
@shatzie821 – Our wedding is at his dad’s farm…kind of a cross between antique and classy. Not really rustic or shabby chic.
@mrswbs – I know! Him and his damn ideas…he likes to give me obstacles LOL. There’s some cards that cost over $5!
I was hoping to find a huge coffee mug with a pheasant on it.

@anna4041: Well, you could put a pictures of a pheasant in one of those design-your-own mugs. If you get the Dollar Tree ones, you could give him a few, lol. One with the ticket stubs, one with photos of the two of you, and one with a pheasant… and it would still be less than $5 🙂
ETA: This one on ebay is cool, but over your budget: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pheasant-Clear-Big-Large-Heavy-Glass-Mug-Cup-Beer-Stein-Silver-Game-Bird-Hunting-/251153326205?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a79e7a07d
This one is also over budget, but you could make something like it: http://www.discoveroutdoors.us/pheasant-16-oz-steel-travel-mug
