Depends on how close you are to them.
If you were pretty close I would be comfortable asking and maybe even offering that afterwards you would hire a professional cleaning crew to come in.
At least as far as asking family goes - I would talk to my parents about it to get a feel for whether they thought certain family members would be up for it (and highly likely would get my mom to do my dirty work and mention the possibility to them in such a way that they would volunteer their place).

My question is, do you think its right to ask someone to use their property for your wedding? Or would you only go for it if they volunteer?
I'm asking because we have several friends and relatives with large enough properties for our small wedding ~25 people. We've been searching for several months for a venue where we live (on the west coast). Pretty much all of our guests are on the east coast. We were considering asking one of them to hold our wedding at their house but I feel like that's a HUGE favor. So I wanted to see if anyone else has done this or what your thoughts are...
Thanks for your input :)
