Do you have a cat tower or cat condo she can climb and play on? My cats also like feather chaser toys like Da Bird. I think the chaser toys in general are more satisfying than the laser because they can actually catch something.

Da Bird, Cat Charmer, Yeowww! Catnip Banana.  My cat goes nuts for all of these.

YES! I just got this toy called “petmate crazy circle interactive cat toy” (in size large, the small is useless) from amazon and my kitty LOVES it. It’s this hollow tube circle with a ball that they bat around inside. He played with it for an hour straight when we got it!  (Our other cat is not so smart and didn’t get it at all, haha.)

Have you thought about getting another cat? That is the single best source of fun and companionship for a kitty. Even if they don’t get along right away, they’ll definitely get along over time…

Yeah and foil balls, but you have to be there to throw / fish out from under furniture. This other one is great cause its super interactive and doesn’t need a person. Check out the reviews on amazon!

@SarahTee:  your kitty sounds just like mine!! very high strung and picky about toys….but he loves fetch!!
our kitty is a rescue too…hes about the same age…he loves the laser….what we have found is he ADORES moving toys to stimulate hunting for him…. Have you seen the Cats Meow toys on tv….we got him one (they are cheap just need c batteries)….and he goes insaine for it….it changes directions on its own, changes speeds, he keeps at it for 1-2 hours at  a time….we also have a deal that is like a circle with a scratching pad in the middle and a light up ball that goes around the sides….that he likes because the flashing light keeps his attention….we also have a kitty condo which has various activities for himto do…scratching post, jingly toys….he also has a crinkle tube which he loves because it makes noises as he goes through it and helps keep him occupied….we also try and play with him for an hour at least once a day

in regards to the scratching…our boy got “accidentally” frontal declaw on the front, but we clip his back claws trimmed up to help….also you should check into nail caps….i too am against declawing your cats….http://www.softpaws.com/

here are some good options

basically if your kitty is like mine, they are a little wound up, and prefer toys that stimulate hunting….as far as training goes just keep working with your kitty….

@SarahTee:  sorry thats soo long but i wanted to show you there are affordable options and if your baby is anything like mine and catnip toys dont get her interest, try moving options that she cand o on her own from time to time when she wants to play…im serious about trimming nails though….it helps! SOO Much! dont get too short just enough to take the sharpness off…
