Not sure, it would depend how large the bags are! This might be something you’ll need to measure out before ordering, like just buy a small package of trail mix from a store and make 1 or 2 to see what they look like.

Hmm, I wouldn’t go overboard, I would say about a half cup would be good. Because really as far as healthy eating goes it is suggested to have about 10 almonds as a snack. That isn’t much in comparison to what a lot of people would sit down and eat. But in my opinion half cup of trail mix is a decently dense snack and a good size without consuming like 400 or more calories in one go.

P.S. I think that packaging is adorable! I wish I would have thought about trail mix as a favour, totally goes with the fishing/nature theme. Oh well, homemade chocolate hearts and fish are it for us :).

Josheen:  We did trail mix for our wedding favors because it kind of went with the theme for our wedding (our tables were named after hikes DH and I had done together).

Our packaging was different from yours, so you might get away with putting less trail mix in the paper bags (LOVE your packaging, btw) but ours had 1/2-3/4 cup each? It was tough to use the measuring cup to pour into the bags so we ended up using something else and estimating.

We had packed 145 bags, so more than you have, but it was much more expensive than we anticipated. It cost us over $150 for all the ingredients. (We started with 2 different bagged trail mixes and added in extra nuts and m&m’s… it was basically the trail mix that DH and I love and take with us when we hike).

Josheen:  Just managed to find chocolate molds that are fish shaped and others that are hearts. So we are just throwing one of each in a clear baggie (my mom thinks with fish and one heart…but that means more work haha) then tie it with twine. Simple and done! 🙂 Have you posted any DIY’s? I would love to see some of your ideas!

mrswhitemtn:  Can you tell me where you ordered your bags/stickers from? That is exactly what I want but I’m not sure where to begin looking!

mrswedding16:  I designed the stickers myself (They’re avery 2″ x 4″ labels). You can order the labels from amazon or buy them at Staples. I just used Microsoft Word to do the design.

The bags I used were from creativegiftpackaging.com (Stand Up Zipper Top Food Bags – 4 x 2 x 6 – 100/pk). It was ~$10 for 100 bags.

I bought the cheapest hair straightener I could find on amazon and used it to heat seal the bags (~$8?).

Hope that helps!
