I’m in a little bit of a pickle and have left this issue to the last minute. I am getting married in less than three weeks (3 May) and still haven’t organized transportation!! Just so I don’t sound like a total idiot, let me explain my reasoning.
My FI and I have are getting married on an exposed sandbar, 10 minutes off shore from a small seaside/beach town in Australia. A company there runs tours on an amphibious (boat/land vehicle) vehicle and regularly hosts transport for weddings to this spot. I have seen photos of other weddings like this and it looks amazing, totally private with awesome views (check out the photos below!). Because we have spent so much on this, I haven’t really been to bothered about the remainder of transportation.
I was planning on just having my dad drive myself and two bridesmaids to the pickup point (2 minute drive down the road, if that, but too far to walk) and the photographer will have to drive herself (will have to talk to her and confirm first). The real problem is photos, I am planning on getting photos with the entire bridal party at a different location after we make it back to mainland. A friend of mine has offered to drive us around as she has enough room for us to fit. Again the photographer will have to make her own way and this does burden my friend (even though she offered). But don’t really feel the need to organize any additional fancy mode of transportation, as we already have something pretty awesome for photo ops. We are also really tight on our budget.
But I wonder if anyone will comment about being lazy or half-assing. Sorry about the mega long post but what do you think?
