I'm getting married in Jersey City, but had the same concerns regarding out of town guests getting lost. Someone posted a similar question on the knot (I think?) a month or so ago, and one of the brides answered that she had used Academy Buses for her guests. We called a few days ago and recieved a quote of $950 for 10 hours...we we thought was a bargain! Since we needed transportation for our guests both directions, that fits our schedule perfectly...with a few extra hours to spare.
Hope that helps!
If the $950 is too much, is there a friend or family member that isn't intimidated by the subways that can be the group leader. Basically that person will have a meet up time 40 minutes before the wedding at the hotel and will lead people to the church, others can just call a cab, and you should leave instructions for them to contact the hotel concierge 15 minutes before they are ready to leave.

Hi Ladies,
I'm new here, so I wanted to introduce myself...I'm getting married next April 17th at Giando on the Water in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
I tried searching for answers to my question, but didn't come up with anything, so I apologize in advance if this has been asked fairly recently.
On my wedding website, I've laid out directions to my venue via taxi or car and subway, but I'm worried that all of our out of town guests (who make up approximately 75% of our total guest list) will be put off or confused by this. We're doing a hotel block in the city that is approximately 10-15 minutes away from the venue via cab, and 20-30 minutes away via subway.
All of us locals know how easy it is to get around, but I'm just worried about confusing people...should I be providing transportation for all guests? I thought about doing a shuttle bus pick up and drop off before and after the wedding, but wasn't sure how much of an expense this would be? I don't have a ton of extra money in the budget to play around with.
Did all of you provide transportation, or do you think as long as I provide clear directions/maps on our site, I don't have to worry about it? If you did use a charter bus or something to that effect, do you mind telling me who you booked through and what I can expect to hear in terms of cost for something like this?
Thanks for your help!
