    I need ideas.

Our wedding is in November, we need to do pics before bc it will be dark by the time the wedding starts and we want to have more time to enjoy our guests than taking pictures.  However, we can only get to the venue 1.5 hours before the ceremony time.  We put a slightly earlier time on the invitations so we could start ON TIME.  So I will have to be hidden away in the bridal room more than half an hour before the ceremony.  That doesn't leave us enough time to do pictures.  In order to arrive earlier we have to pay a big fee ($450 per hour).  Our other option would be to do pics in a nearby park ($50 site fee) however I can't figure out how to get from the hotel to the park without having to rent a limo (we don't want to do that as the ceremony and reception are all in the same place and we don't really need that extra expense to get us the 10 min from the hotel to the venue).  For the record the hotel, the park and the venue are all within 10 or so min of each other.  If we have to rent limos it will make the cost more than it would be to just extend our stay at the venue an hour.  I'm trying to save some $$ but I cannot figure out how to get between the different places without a limo and without totally wrecking/wrinkling my dress.

    Help! Any ideas?

Does the hotel offer shuttle service? We are using our hotel shuttle service.

Oh man, we're having the same issue. I think we're actually going to do some earlier photos in the lobby of the hotel since it's so pretty, and then just do a few big group photos at the venue pre-ceremony.

They don't have a shuttle service. And our hotel is a marriot courtyard that isn't so pretty to take pictures at.

Here's my concern about taking my own car (or one of my family's cars) I'm afraid of totally wrecking my dress but cramming myself into a small car.  But possibly if I can find acess to a large SUV or a Suburban or something?

A friend of mine couldn't afford limos and so she traveled that day in a minivan and her dress was perfectly fine when she got to the reception.  She had the whole back seat to herself so she and the dress could spread out as much as necessary.

What about getting a towncar, instead of a limo? They usually work on a point to point basis, rather than an hourly rate (like a limo does), so it's cheaper. That's what we're doing and it's about $75/trip (they're short, like yours would be).

You could also look into renting a nice SUV from a rental car place (like enterprise or hertz). They usually have really good rates on the weekends and you could designate someone to be your driver. Might be a nice way to include a brother or cousin or someone in the festivities. Since you would have the SUV for the whole day/weekend, you could use it to transport decorations or even use it for the get away car, etc. Hope this helps!

We're renting a 12 passenger van to use as transportation.  An aqaintance (someone who wasn't initally invited to the wedding) will be our driver.  He'll cart us around and then drive people to and from the Hotel - 14 miles away.  It was so much cheaper than a limo.
