Hi hive!  I have looked everywhere but not had any luck with good advice for trashing the dress aftermath.  I've scheduled a shoot (with none other than the fabu Mrs Avo!!!!) and was going to buy another dress but that seems ridiculous.  At the same time, I don't want to RUIN my actual wedding dress, but I don't want to be a wuss when we're taking the time to capture these images.

So -- any hive members out there who have trashed the dress a little bit (water, laying in grass, etc) that had their dress cleaned and it came out OK...or should I avoid tons of mud, water etc to not completely ruin the dress?

I think this just depends on how you feel about it. For me I am all about trashing my dress. Yes it is the dress that I am getting married in. But I won't wear it again. It is a once in  a lifetime experience and a way to get some amazing shots of you in your gown that are unique and fun! I have heard that most dress come clean with a good cleaning! Good Luck! I am also using Mrs. Avo and she is so awesome!

I always thought that once you trashed the dress, you were done with it.  Do ladies try and get them cleaned after?

You could always check Bridal Boutiques for a cheaper dress. I was in one once where certain dresses were on sale for $5-$25.  They might be last yrs style but its worth taking a look, you may find something cute you really like without breaking the bank of ruining your actual dress.  I love the idea of a trash the dress photo shoot!! Sounds so fun!!  If you use your own dress, I would think save a piece of it just in case you have a daughter who wants to wrap her bouquet in it someday, or something along those lines...

I take it your trash the dress shoot is after your actual wedding? If so, I wouldn't worry about it unless you are set on the possibility of your future daughter wearing it or something.
