Have any of you had or been to a reception at Trattoria Lisina? Can you tell me about your experience? Thus far they have been far below my expectations. (I could rant about that, but I’ll get to my point.) They have incredibly idiotic music restrictions. When I signed the contract, I was told that I could not have a band (fine), or they would play their tacky Olive Garden-style muzak. I was told by the events coordinator that I could have a classical guitarist play, but not a piano player. The piano, I was told might bother the other guests. My reception is from 7-10 on a Sunday night. What other guests are they expecting?
How did you circumvent these ridiculous restrictions?

That sounds a bit ridiculous considering it is a wedding reception.
We are having our rehearsal dinner at the restaurant. Also, I know they just hired a new event coordinator and so you might check back with them and see if that has changed. Plus how are you supposed to do your first dances, etc.? I cant imagine that there would be many people in the restaurant that late on a Sunday…

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to get much more information from the new events coordinator. I have a feeling that many of the music restrictions are coming directly from the owner. *sigh* I’m just so frustrated because they seem so unwilling to work with us. They will, however (I believe anyway) let us have an iPod. Tacky? Perhaps, but it’s better than nothing and the day will be perfect regardless.
