My photographer is coming from four hours away. She is charging us 127 for mileage and then 100 for hotel since our wedding is a night wedding.
I contacted a photographer 6 hours drive away in the beginning who charged nothing for the travel but required you to pay their hotel bill. Some require you to pay a cost per mile or for their plane ticket and/or hotel.
Our photog charged actual cost of flight and hotel/rental car, plus a per diem for food (since she would be away multiple days). It was quite reasonable, she definitely shopped around and got good deals on the flight and cars (and she's staying in our hotel block, so we don't have to worry about her being far away or getting stuck in traffic getting to us!)
for my DW, the quote I got from almost every photographer included the price of a roundtrip ticket, hotel stay for the wedding weekend and car rental. One photographer had additional charges for expenses (food etc) which was by day.
Most photographers will charge you for their flight and their hotel room while they're in town.
Like others have said, some will also charge for food per day.
we paid something like $0.25/mile (since it was within driving distance) and their hotel room, which we booked for them out of our hotel block. we're feeding them the standard vendor meal for the wedding, although I suppose we're going to have to feed them lunch too.

Does anyone know how much photographers charge for travel? We're considering using a recent graduate to see what her prices will be but the photographers that are affordable are a good couple of hours away from where the wedding will be.
