I think I would go to her. It won't really change the time line much and saving $100 that you can use for something else is great!
I had the same thing with my hair and ultimately decided to go to my stylists .. That way if I need something extra on THE DAY then it's right there.
If she is only 10 minutes from the venue, I would go to her. It sounds like logistically that is the best option---she will have all her supplies already at her fingertips, no chance of getting lost, you are in control of when you arrive to the appointment vs. waiting on her, no bugging your fiance to get out of the room while you get ready, it's relatively close to where you are going afterward, a chance to pick up breakfast, and you will save $100.
All wins in my book!
I was going to say "It'll be worth the extra money, have her come to you" but only 10 mins? Just go to her, it won't be too challenging and then if you need anything...she'll have it there :)
I saved money and went to the salon and picked up a breakfast bagel too while we were getting ours done! It just worked out easier and I really wanted my hair to look awesome and new this salon would do it perfectly. I didn't have an extra $100 for someone to come to my venue on a Sunday.
I wanted to follow up - I changed the appointment so I'm going to her instead of her coming to me. My fiance thinks it's a good idea, but my mom FREAKED out. Like, she had no idea why I would want to go somewhere when they could come to me... when I told her all of the reasons (getting lost, maybe not bringing the right tool, etc), my mom just though I was nuts - to the point that I had to stop talking about it to her because she wouldn't compromise or understand why I'd want to go there at all!
It's such a peace of mind for me - to know that I'm a little bit more in control of the situation (I've seen some weddings where the bride and the groom didn't get to take photos before hand because the hair dresser was so late!). But I can't seem to get her to understand that at all :)
I'd go to her too. I think it will elliminate the stress of having to worry about all of those possible scenarios! But make sure you do get some breakfast :)

I'm having a 11:30am ceremony on a Sunday, so we found an indepdent hair stylist to do my hair. My original plan was to have her come to the hotel (where I am staying and where the reception and ceremony are) at 7:30am to do my hair. I want to be ready by 9:30am (I'm doing my own make up and my gown isn't hard to put on.
I'm starting to think that I should go to her studio instead of having her come to me. I'm concerned for a few reasons:
The con is that I would probably have to move the hair up from 7:30am to 7:00am starting time so I could be done by 8:30am and drive back to the hotel to get ready.
The more I think about it, the more I'm liking the idea of going to her. We could also pick up coffee and breakfast on the way, which would be super nice, and because it's so early, I doubt there would be any traffic.
Opinions?
