@MeiFrancis:  One of my favorite parts about your recaps was your hair … so pretty. I would have loved for my hair to come out like that. You’re so lucky that you had that experience where the day of your hair was better. But however, that wasn’t the case for me. My hair didn’t turn out horrible the day of but it wasn’t what I thought it would be.

This is what my trial looked like: A side bun basically

Between the trial and the wedding day, I changed what I wanted a bit and spoke to the stylist. Instead I wanted a french braid that went from the front to the back into a side bun. Well two things went wrong, first the stylist didn’t know how to french braid and didn’t tell me! My hair was done and it was too late to do it over … (see picture) .. it came out more like a twist. And when she did the side bun, it was way too big and pieces of hair kept falling out so she changed the bun into a chignon. Way better but ugh …. not what I wanted.

The lady who did my hair did beautifully at the trial, but on the day of, she failed miserably.  She took three times as long as she said she would, and then she told me she thought it looked okay when there were weird lumps everywhere.  She finally gave up and had another stylist do it, and I rolled into the church 45 minutes before the wedding began without any makeup and still not in my dress.  It was terrible.  My biggest regret from my wedding was that I wasted money on her instead of just having one of my BMs who’s really good with hair do it (and getting to spend more time with her because of that).

The final updo didn’t look anything like the one at my trial, but at least it looked good after the second stylist got to it.

Trial (also the day of my bridal portraits):

@MeiFrancis:  Thank you! Actually, it didn’t fall out once she put it in the side chignon. But before that it was in a side bun that was falling out 🙂

@krstino1012:  Holy crap you are gorgeous!

@MeiFrancis:  I actually ended up liking the way it looked at the wedding even better than I did at the trial… I was just angry that my stylist took so long, ultimately failed, and had to have someone else do something that was so different.  So I guess it’s the process that pissed me off, not the end result.

That being said, the hair problem was the biggest issue I had on the day of the wedding, and it was ultimately not a big deal.  I think I’m really lucky to say that my biggest problem wasn’t much of a problem at all in the end.

@MeiFrancis:  She did a way better job the day of and it lasted all day and it was super windy – literally not a curl fell the day of I loved my hair – and now it is all chopped off into a pixie lol

@mylittleviolett:  THANK YOU!!!

@MeiFrancis:  I am loving the new hair.  I just felt like when I was growing it out – I couldnt do anything with it and it was kind of blah!  I feel like a new woman lol.
