Hi Triangle area bees! I've been noticing more and more that there are quite a few of us on here. Should we try to do a meet up? All the others have seemed like a lot of fun! Let me know you're thoughts!
I'd totally be up for that! I've definitely been a little envious of all the meetups I've seen posted in other areas, so I think it'd be a lot of fun if there's interest. Count me in!
Yeah! Absolutely! Once we decide on a when and where, I can also ask to have it on the front page of the blog to see if we can round up a few more takers!
I'm in Durham, Candy's in Raleigh, what about Farmersdaughter? Depending on her location, we could try to triangulate a convenient place in the middle?
Being able to put it on the front page would be great! Great that we have a Bee in our area!
I'm relatively new to Raleigh, so those of you who know the area better may be able to come up with a good, centralized location.
I would love to, but I won't be back in the triangle until March. I was born and raised in Durham and went to school in Chapel Hill but I'm currently in grad school in TX. If y'all go ahead without me, I totallllly understand. Yay for triangle brides! :)
Morrisville, as in between Raleigh and Cary? Or, is there another Morrisville? I can't wait till I know where everything is!
I just moved here after the wedding - so I'm new to the area as well :) My firm has an office in RTP and I live near the Southpoint Mall, so I'm slowly venturing out.
Lamb, you don't live far from me at all! I live in the Brier Creek area of Raleigh. I actually work some in RTP and the Southpoint area!
Since cupcake lives in Morrisville, and we live relatively close, it seems like the meet up should be easy to plan close to all of us. Well, depending on where everyone else lives.
Hey everyone! I was excited to log in this afternoon and see that there are some more Triangle bees interested in a meetup. I'm also new to the area (got here in August) and am living in Chapel Hill. I'm on the east side of CH right up against Durham, so I'm not far from the Southpoint area, myself.
I'm so excited to see this - I would definitely be game for a meet-up! I live in Morrisville, but I work in Durham and I'm down for wherever.
Ok, from the sound of it, Durham may be the best place to meet up. Let's say somewhere in the Southpoint area. Anyone have any suggestions on a place?
When works best for everyone? I know @legallyblondebride would like us to wait till March. Honestly, that works out best for me if we'd like to do it on a weekend. What does everyone think about march.
@legallyblondebride: when in March will you be in town?
Yay let's do it! I'm a North Raleigh girl. Weekends would be better for me as well, unless you want me to show up in scum-tastic scrubs. I'm super duper excited! I'll be out of town from the 18th to the 21st for....wait for it....a wedding. Mr. O's stepbrother is getting married in LI and we're making the journey.
I really, honestly can't wait to meet you gals!
@Lamb - I got my dress at the David's across from Southpoint! That's a great area :)
This is great! I am no longer in the Triangle (though my heart still is), but a dear friend of mine in Durham just got engaged. I'm going to refer her to this great group.
Ok, ladies, what sort of meet up are we wanting to do? Dinner, drinks, both? I'm not super familiar with Southpoint, so any suggestions are much appreciated!
Its seeming like March may be a good time for us to meet up. How does the first weekend in March work for everyone? Is there another weekend that would work better?
There's so much in Southpoint! Let's see, there's lots of the big chains:
California Pizza Kitchen
Cheesecake Factory
Firebirds
Five Guys
Maggiano's
Panera
Rockfish
Italian - Not Carraba's . . . blanking on the name
PF Chang's
Nordstrom's cafe
Starbucks
Weekends work fairly well for me too, but in March I'm travelling quite a bit (a real honeymoon! woohoo!) so I'll be hit or miss. Maybe we could schedule something low key like Starbucks sometime this month (Feb. 20th?) and then a bigger lunch or dinner in March?
Yay! I'm so excited to meet you all!
I know for me, the rest of the month is pretty busy on the weekends. I'm going out of town every one! This is hard to schedule!
That being said, if that date is good for everyone, then by all means, meet up! :) I don't want ya'll to wait on me or anything.
I'm super excited to meet you all!!!!
I think a low-key coffee date in Feb, followed by dinner/drinks in March sounds great. I'm unfortunately out for Feb 20 (my in laws are going to be in town), but most other weekends should work for me - the only day in March that I have set plans is March 27.
Hahaha, the devil is in the details!
If you want/can do coffee, which dates could you do?
Feb. 20
Feb. 27
Feb. 28
I could do Feb. 20th (my first dress fitting is in Charlotte the following weekend, so the 27th and 28th are out for me). I'll be traveling for the first two weekends in March.
We could also do weekday dinner/drinks somewhere low-key if everyone's weekends are busy.
I agree w/ @stringerb3. Since it seems like everyone's weekends are hectic, maybe we should try for a mid-week get together. I know since my wedding is only 2.5 months out, my weekends are getting pretty hectic.
How does this sound for eveyone?
I'm just seeing this now, but I'm interested! Now that my wedding is over :-(, I have most weekends free.
I live in Brier Creek, work in RTP. I've been here a while, so I can help make some suggestions but Southpoint might be the best as it's right off I-40.
Mez is a pretty cool place (off I-40 Exit 282) also. It's considered Durham I think but right by RTP and Morrisville.
(The Italian Place at Southpoint is Carino's)
I had thought of MEZ as well. I've heard it's a pretty cool place. It may be a little more centrally located for us Raleigh girls. Good idea!
Maybe we should do a doodle poll - have you ladies ever heard of that? Go to the link below and "vote" for the days that you are free for a meetup. I included both weeknights and weekends since it sounds like some people have super busy weekends, while others may have a harder time making it during the week. I was a little arbitrary and just went with a 3-week period at the end of Feb/beginning of March, but please post or PM me if you want me to include a date that isn't currently on the poll:

Hopefully we can find a time that works for all/most of us who want to participate!
I voted. Maybe you could add the weekdays leading up to March 20-21st?
Thanks stringerb3 - I just realized I left that out. People who have already voted may have to go back and revote now that I've added those dates in. Sorry for the oversight!
Here's the link again:
Wow, I just saw this. I'm in Morrisville too so anywhere is good for me. And I'm free most of the time :)
Aw yay I'm so excited! Sad to see that you all can do the 20th, we'll be out of town. Hopefully I can make the coffee date!
i wish i lived in the triangle area. but im at the western end of the state until i move. then i will be at the southeastern end of the state. have fun at the meet up ladies.
It looks like Saturday, March 20 is the day that most of us can make it. Do we want to go ahead and say that's the day for the bigger meet up?
Now, we just need to decide where?
I agree - Saturday March 20 should be good. I'm pretty new to the area so I hesitate to make a suggestion - sounded like there was a bit of support for Mez earlier. Should we go with that?
Also, some bees mentioned a February coffee date - is there still interest in that? Maybe Starbucks by Southpoint the last weekend in Feb?
OK! Here's the plan (if it's ok w/ everyone.)
MEZ (in RTP/Durham area/Cary area) ON SATURDAY, MARCH 20. 7:00 PM - WHENEVER
How's this sound?
