I just wanted to jump in and say I'm totally jealous you girls are having a Triangle Area meet up!! I went to college at NC State (met my fiance there) and LOVED my time in Raleigh. I miss it very much - have fun!!!
I'm a former Triangle girl too - I graduated from UNC back in 2004. I know you all will have a great time! And for what it's worth, I would have recommended Firebirds at Southpoint since I waited tables there while I was in college. :)

LittleOctopus, there was talk of a coffee date in late February...so if there's still interest we could do that too...
I would love to do the coffee date! I can't believe the one weekend we're going to be out of town works for everyone...and OOT for a wedding, no less!! ;)
So how about we do coffee Sunday Feb 28th at...2pm? At Starbucks in Southpoint? And Mez on the 20th.

I just found the wedding bee local board! I've been reading the blog for months but never knew there was anything local, way cool! Hope you guys haven't met up yet - I'm local too!! I live in Cary now, moving to Brier Creek in April. Coffee sounds great!

I'm not sure if everyone saw this, but I was browsing and saw Penguins post about having a get together the weekend of the 27th with Southern Weddings. She posted about it here and was looking for feedback. I couldn't get to the doodle poll to see if that date was open for a lot of people. Just thought I'd share the information in this thread in case you missed it.
Hey guys, I completely blanked about doing a reminder on the blog side for this, but I'll be at the Starbucks across from the Southpoint Mall at 2 - I might be a smidge late, but I'll def. be on my way.
Like Lauren said, Southern Weddings has asked if we want to do a meet-up with their readers on the 27th of March, so maybe we can postpone Mez until April.

Ahhhhh! I got caught in a restaurant for lunch where the waitress was painfully slow - I finished eating at 1:45 and didn't get my check until 2:15!!! I made my way to the starbucks and couldn't find parking!! I finally got inside at 2:50 but did,kt see anyone that looked like they could be bees. I feel so badly. Did anyone make it out? I'm so so sorry I was late!
I was there at 2:15 and there wasn't anyone there, so I thought I was at the wrong place. I drove to two other Starbucks, went back to the one I started at, and still no one was there. I was so excited too :(
It's okay Lamb, it happens. I'm just bummed out because I can't make any of the other events.
LittleOctopus, I was there at 2:15! I thought I was keeping a close eye out for people who might be bees, but I guess we missed each other. Sad!
I just saw Penguin's post about the brunch, and I was totally excited. However, I have to work in Cary till 12 that day. Sad times! How do we feel about maybe keeping the March 20 dinner? It seems like the meet up for yesterday didn't work out that great, so 2 meet ups could still be an option. I know March was a crazy busy month for everyone, so, again, 2 is possibly an option.
What does everyone think?
I'm totally new to weddingbee and just trying to figure this all out, but I would love to meetup with some other bees in the area! I'll keep checking in and try to make whatever meetup is planned. March 20th or the 27th sound great!
hi ladies - i'm out of pocket at the moment and i unfortunately had to change around plans for the 20th. i won't be able to make it to mez. i would say that if you can't make it to the souther weddings-weddingbee meetup on the 27th, that you should still feel free to meet together that day - but if you can come to that day, then i'll see you there
let's also try again for an April or May date - with the weather getting warmer, i'm sure more people will be wanting to head out and enjoy al fresco dining perhaps? :)
Hello ladies! As the 20th is quickly approaching (this weekend!!) - do we still have interest in doing the meet up at Mez? Or, are most of you planning on going to the Southern Weddings thing on the 27?
I agree with Mrs. Lamb, that maybe trying for April or May would be a good idea. I'm always a fan of al fresco dining.
Let's hear your thoughts.
I can't do this weekend anymore - I have my dress fitting in Charlotte. I'm hoping to make it to the Southern Weddings thing next weekend, though.
I'd definitely be up for an outdoor dinner in May - I get back from the honeymoon on May 2nd, so anytime after that (so far) will work for me! (I don't think I can commit to April with the wedding so close...)
I'll try to think of some spots with good outdoor spaces - maybe Solas in Raleigh (they have a rooftop deck, I think)?
