Hey NC bees! Do any of you have recommendations on a good seamstress for bridal gown alterations?

I bought my dress at a shop over in Charlotte, and I'm debating getting it altered outside my bridal shop so I don't have to drive back and forth for my fittings (I live in Chapel Hill.) Please let me know where in the Triangle you had your gown altered, and tell me about your experience!

    Thanks so much!

    I second Olga.

She did an amazing job, she gave me a sweatheart neckline and turned my zipper into corset along with shortening and bustle points for an extremely reasonable price.

She is usually really busy so I recommend you call her early.  Last year in February she was booked through August or something crazy like that.  Good luck!

Wow! She must be good if she's booked out that far! My wedding is in June so it might already be too late...I'll check it out though. Thanks!!

My wedding is in June as well and I just went to see Olga for an estimate last week.  She's putting extra boning in my jcrew dress, maybe adding an internal elastic to hold it up, hem, bussle & ironing for a little over $100.  I'll go in for a fitting 2.5 weeks before the wedding then pick it up 2 days before.

I've heard nothing but amazing reviews and impressed so far.  She works out of her home and you wouldn't think its the right place when driving up, but she's worth it.

I'm going to write an official review after I'm married, but I just wanted to come back to this thread and THANK the bees that recommended that I go see Olga. I got my alterations done at the shop where I bought my dress, and while they did a great job on the hem and bustle, I was dissatisfied with the bodice - they took it in significantly, but it didn't feel form-fitted to my body, wasn't as flattering as I'd hoped. Olga fit me in with 3 weeks to go until my wedding - I went in for my fitting yesterday and couldn't believe how much of a difference a few simple alterations made in how the dress looked and felt on me. She is truly talented and incredibly sweet/warm. Thank you so much for sending me her way!! I couldn't be happier.
