how about if they give a little toast before the cake is served, or they could pray for the meal, or do scripture reading during the ceremony.

Worldtrekkergroom and I are from south Louisiana and it seems to be a tradition for the godmothers and godfathers (or Nanny and Parrin as they are called in Cajun) of the bride and groom to help cut/serve the wedding cake.
We would like to pay tribute/have them included in the wedding but don't want them to have to serve our wedding (cup)cakes.
Any ideas?
