Tried and true DIY glitter techniques?

@FutureMrsMeinhardt:  I would use a spray on acrylic sealer (similar to what they use for chalk drawings).  I think Krylon makes one.

I used spray on glitter (like spray paint) and then used the spray on sealer. we used it on champagne glasses and it worked better than any of the other paints I tried.

@FutureMrsMeinhardt:  a gloss top coat like Triple Thick works wonders.  If the glitter is loose, do not spray paint it, as it will blast off the glitter.  Use a really soft brush (not a foam one) and go over just once.

Glossy modge podge works too.  Or even a 1/2 mix of water/glue–but you may lose some of shine with the latter mixture.

I made my cake topper (lots and lots of glitter) brushing modgepod over it; helped everything… it sparkles like crazy; but its super smooth and not gritty:) and nothing falls off;) it’s amazing!! Good luck! (cute picture frame!)
