DH and I will be celebrating our one year anniversary in August. We are thinking we will get each other a week-long vacation somewhere. We thought it might be fun to pick a place with ties to “paper” since this will be the paper anniversary. We can’t go too far since it is only a week trip (i.e., no going to China even though paper was developed there). Pretty much thinking the US or Central America or the Carribbean or Western Europe maybe. Any good ideas with ties to paper?

Aww that is our one year anniversary too! We still havent decided what we are doing! Anywhere that you go you can use the tickets as your paper gift. Frame them afterwards in a shadowbox with other mementos you collect from your trip. Are you guys living in NYC or KC?

If you print out your tickets or your confirmation of reservation, anything can be linked to paper!
(I can rationalize most anything).

I’m not sure how it ties to paper, but this is my current dream vacation I’m lusting over.

Well, I can tell you about the vacations I’ve been on that fit those criteria 🙂
1) Honolulu, Hawaii – it costed about $1300 for airfare and hotel for a week, plus extra for food etc. Probably almost $2000 per person. Awesome time though! We loved it!
2) Ocho Rios, Jamaica – it costed about $1600 per person which was all inclusive. It was also great!
3) I just got back from Quebec City, which I didn’t pay for since I was chaperoning a school trip, but it was amazing. Totally like going to Europe!
4) Disneyland! Because really, who doesn’t love it? I’ve been like five times 🙂

I believe the first paper mill in the US was In PA! Check out the Poconos,
there awesome amazing resorts there and would be perfect for a week getaway!
NYC is about 2hrs drive from there!
