I had this issue with BM dresses -- none of the most recent styles (from the Jim Hjelm collection, in particular) were available, and according to the consultant who helped us, they won't be in until September (no help for us!).
Yeah thats what Im wondering...are the runway Spring 2009 collections not out until the fall? Then how come they call them Spring? Im confused...but Im dying to try this dress on! I wonder if I'll go to NYC to get it! Thanks brushetta...go Sixers and Flyers!
argh....D.Marie....I googled for ages trying to find it for you. I also checked Oncewed.com but didn't see it there either. Have you tried eBay? I know some bees (like tmarie) have had great success with it and others notsomuch. I'm gonna keep looking for you hon, we have 2 small boutique-y type bridal shops here in my little funny pilgrim town...I can check with them if you want...they are walking distance so totally not a big deal.
Have you thought about doing an Etsy alchemy request for it? eeeeh...that was my last thought for you.
AWW Happilywaiting what a doll you are! I emailed Demetrios...and called them but they are closed till Monday. So I probably wont hear back from them until Monday on the email. Im thinking maybe one of the NJ Demetrios Macys Salons might have them. Someone told me on my other post that two of them in NJ are having trunk shows next month so maybe they will bring a sample. Im keeping my fingers crossed. I dont think I would go to ebay or Etsy for a dress...I def want to try something on before I buy it. I asked the one shop if they could get a sample of it but then they said it becomes my dress...and i dont want to buy it before trying it on. But thanks so much for checking the internet. Im going to keep checking and making phone calls over the weekend and then hopefully i will hear from NYC Demetrios in the email on Monday. But I wouldnt go to any trouble walking to your boutiques there...like I said I would like to try on dresses without having to buy it first. Thanks again so much! This is why I love the hive!

I'm glad you were able to find your dress! To comment on the availability of Spring 2009 gowns -- since the spring lines themselves only hit the runways recently, I don't imagine many stores outside of maybe flagship salons would actually stock the newest samples. In fact, I think that the runway shows are probably when all the salon owners actually order samples. Then it seems most designers begin scheduling their trunk shows soon after, which is when brides to be get to try on the newest, fresh of the runway styles. My VW was a Spring 2008, which wasn't available some stores until a few months after, but I saw it for the first time (and bought it!) during a trunk show =).

THEY HAVE IT....THEY HAVE IT!!!! I CANT WAIT TO TRY HER ON!!!! YAY!!! I asked what their sample sizes are and she said usually an 8 to 14....so whats a size 16 girl to do? Do I still go and try it on...or wait till I lose a little more weight? I see in June they are having a trunk show and a few sales coming up...maybe I will give myself one more month and then go over and try it on. Im so excited im ready to try it on now! But if its a 14 then I should probably wait. But im going dress shopping next weekend with my OOT MOH and my junior bridesmaids....its my first dress shopping trip. So I think maybe after we go there...maybe we can slide over to NJ! Thank you girls for all your help!! Thanks again Happilywaiting!! I will def post pictures too!!

Is anyone else having trouble finding a gown from the Spring 2009 collections of a particular designer? Are the Spring 2009 gowns in the stores yet? I called four shops in my area and three of them in different towns, but none of them have the Demetrios 4262 Im looking for. Im just wondering if it is too soon to be looking for a Spring 2009 gown? Im going to call Demetrios in NYC to see if they can locate the sample nearby...even if its in NJ! I really love her and want to try her on...even if I find out I dont like her on me....I just want the thought of knowing I tried her on!
