My boyfriend is able to have an erection, and can (usually) maintain his erection when I am on top. But when we do anything other than this, such as with him on top or doggie style, he is not able to maintain his erection for very long (maybe 1-2 minutes). He is only able to ejaculate when I am on top. Sometimes he loses his erection no matter what position we are in. He is in his later 20s, very healthy, no medical conditions, normal BMI.
We are in a long-distance relationship so he masturbates more frequently than we are able to have sex (we see each other for a few days every 1-2 months). I’ve watched him masturbate, and he is always on his back and always uses the same technique to cause himself to ejaculate. I’m wondering if the masturbation is causing this issue? Or if this is normal?
How can I figure out if I’m the one causing him to lose his erection, or whether it’s something on his end? I guess I’ve been afraid to bring it up because I don’t want to make him feel bad, but I want to talk to him when I can find the right words. I really don’t want to come off as selfish, but one of my concerns in all of this is that I’m not able to reach orgasm in the 1-2 minutes that he is on top.
