Weddings are no different from other significant events in reality. Precise memories will fade but actually, you might find yourself recalling different details too. It’s quite normal for the sharpness of the memories to blur a bit though. When I was a kid, my birthday and Christmas were such special days and yet looking back, while I remember a whole package of nice things happening I couldn’t possibly recall much that was specific to a particular birthday or Christmas. That’s how memory works.
With weddings, that’s why it is great to have a good set of pictures. They keep the day alive and often trigger off those particularly special moments.

@Steampunkbride: Well I’m lucky I have great pictures, I suppose it’s me trying to hold onto the day before it fades in my mind, I suppose as long as I know it was beautiful and other people tell me their memories too : )

@Hermoine: It was a blur for me too. I rely on the photos a lot. In fact, I made a mistake dwelling on the bad stuff right after my wedding, that they became more vivid in my memory. Now that I’m sort of over them, my brain has an easier time remembering them than the good bits because I didn’t spend anytime trying to recall the good bits 🙁
