Trouble with adhesive roller

I have the Tombow little adhesive roller and it was working GREAT for my invitations until the paper that holds the adhesive broke! I had a refill, did a few more and it happened again. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to fix it. Anybody know how to solve this?

We used similar adhesive rollers- are you pressing too hard? Gentle pressure should do it- I broke one when I first started because I was using too much.

If that doesn't help maybe you should try another brand- it could just be a faulty product.
