Is David’s Bridal great for both? That’s the only bridal store I know is within an hour of where I live. Do they give a discount if you buy your bridal gown AND your bridesmaid dresses there? Is it a big enough discount to matter much?
Also, are there other stores you’d recommend for BM dresses? Or places online with a good reputation (the opposite would be any stores with a bad reputation you’d say I need to avoid!!!) for bridal gowns and/or BM dresses? Have any of you purchased bridesmaid dresses from the internet and had an okay time of it? How long did they take to come once ordered?
For my BM’s, I’m trying to locate cute, modest but fun dresses, probably at least knee length or just a tad above (not long, this is a late morning wedding in early autumn). And I also want dresses that they will actually be able to A) afford B) feel great in C) like enough to be able to wear again for special occasions, etc. I’m trying to aim at $150 and below for each dress.

I have heard both really good and bad reviews from David’s Bridal. My sister and cousin both bought their dresses from David’s Bridal and the experience was great. My sister’s bridesmaid dresses were from David’s Bridal (They are great if you have more than 3 BM’s) and I loved it and my cousins BM dresses were from BCBG and I loved it. The BCBG dress was actually cheaper because we ran into a sale. David’s doesn’t have those as much.
Look online at regular stores too for BM’s dresses. Such as Macy’s, Jcrew, Dillards, etc… I’ve also heard really good things about netbride.com. Look on the internet and even here and all you can find is exceptional reviews about them. Basically you find a dress you like at a bridal store (wedding dresses too) and then request a free quote from them. They have a partnership with the designer and order the dress at a discount. I requested a quote for one dress which was $160 normally and they quoted $119, no tax, and $20 shipping to one address. The dress is brand new and takes 11-16 weeks.
Don’t be afraid of David’s though.

Definitely don’t be afraid of David’s. I didn’t buy my wedding gown there, but I shopped there and was treated WONDERFULLY! My BM dresses are from there, however, and I had wonderful service with that too. The dresses were $99, super cute, very affordable, and something the girls could wear again.
I say, give them a try. If you don’t like them, you can look elsewhere, but it’s at least a good place to start! 🙂

We are using perfect-bridal.com and I’ve heard great things about them! Their customer service has been really good so far and we got Bill Levkoff dresses that were $180 in the bridal salon for $133 – now thats a good deal!
