Trying not to get my hopes up… but… am I possibly pregnant?

My gut says no. that maybe you aren’t so regular as you think perhaps.  Sometimes peoples bodies go wacky as soon as they stop BCP, and some peoples bodies take time before going wacky.  For me, the first month off BCP i had a perfect 28 day cycle.  I haven’t had one since.  I would honestly try to see your doctor.  They could also draw bloods in case there is some odd reason that 8 days late HCG is still not showing up on pee tests.

I think that if you’re 8 days past your period and you’re getting BFN’s, it’s highly unlikely that you’re pregnant.  Twice in my life my regular, 29 day cycle went haywire and took 40+ days to appear.  There was no real explanation.

That being said, I’ve heard that some bees’ pregnancy tests took a long time to show up as positive, as in they knew in their bones they were pregnant, and kept testing, and finally it showed up as a BFP.

Fingers crossed for you!

ETA: A blood test would probably help you, in that it can show you if you’re pregnant even if your POAS tests are showing negatives.  Maybe go to your doctor?

When I went off BC my cycles were 28, 14, 35, then I got pregnant.  The 4th cycle was the only one that I’m sure I ovulated on, too.  You could still be regulating.  If it gets 35 days + I’d start to worry, but not until then (and probably not after then, your doctor will just tell you to wait it out anyway).

Did you use a FRER? It’s pretty unlikely that at 8 days late you wouldn’t have a high enough HCG level to see on a test though…

I’m kind of in the same position as you but I’m only 4 days late. I took a test this morning and it was BFN, sad face. I was hoping this was a somewhat normal experience because I admit I’m getting my hopes up, and I’ve heard of some women who just have low levels of hcg at the start so it won’t set off a pregnancy test later on. Maybe thats why your not getting a BFP?

There’s a million natural reasons that even a person with very regular cycles would have a wacky cycle. Were you sick? Stressed? Started a new exercise routine? Have you been been binging on football foods (I know I have) or perhaps not eating enough? All sorts of things can throw you off. Eight days is a long time though.

Digitals are not that sensitive. A lot of bees on here get not pregnants on digitals after they’ve already gotten BFP’s on FRER.
