YES raised Roman Catholic planning to marry in the Anglican Cathedral in Toronto. Anglican IS catholic (just not roman catholic) and is catholic without papal authority.
Basically (if you watched the Tudor's you'd know this!) It was clever little Anne Bolyen who told Henry he should not succomb to the demands of a pope and that no one should have authority over him as he was the KING OF ENGLAND! Now the Bishop of Canterbury presides (unofficially) over the Church of England (Anglican) although they all have autonomy to make some local rules without permission of the Bishop of Canterbury.
I love this idea, I never liked the idea of going through a priest to talk to god, why cant I talk to him myself? And anyway, if its good enough for the queen... :)
One thing, I keep getting warned that there are implications for our children if we choose an Anglican wedding vs roman catholic, not sure what they are, not sure I care.

i was raised catholic but have since considered exploring other faiths... i am very excited because i am going to an anglican mass on sunday (is it still called a mass or is that a catholic thing?). my FI has agreed to go with me because we want to see if this is a church we could see ourselves marrying in!
any other anglican/episcopalian brides out there?
