I am really sorry that you are stuck with the old bed, and I do agre with the fact that she should have called you and let you know something. The fact that her phone off is just kind of letting you know that she was backing out of it because she didn’t have anyone to help her. But she should have been up front with you. It doesn’t make you a bad person to help someone that really seemed like they needed it, and I wouldn’t let that deter you from helping others in the future. It just didn’t work out, and yes you did miss some things you had planned, but there will be other classes that you can do. It’s ok to vent, we are here to help.

Sorry lady!  It was sweet of you to try and send your bed to a good home.  I am sorry that it backfired on you.

Boo! That sucks – I have also been burned by someone who you are trying to help out by doing a favour – it makes you really angry, but I always try again, because just because one person is lame doesn’t mean other deserving people wouldn’t appreciate the helping hand!

Oh no problem! That would be really discouraging to me too, and I think I would have reacted in the same exact way. She wasn’t very tactful at all, and it could have been carefully planned on her part, as you did tell her beforehand that it was a large bed and she would need at least 2 movers to help her with the bed. But instead she brought along a girlfriend, who was obviously no help at all, sans the bed in your walkway! I bet those chips and beer are hitting the spot, and you can take it all in stride! 🙂

It really is surprising, I think that she figured that she might be able to swing it if she had another person with her, and she knew that she really wasn’t going to be able to get anyone else, so she just decided against it altogether. It really sucks, but I hope your SO doesn’t give you to much grief about it. It truly is the thought that counts!

So the bed that was delivered was wrong… when are they giving you the right one? Maybe you should keep your bed for now so you aren’t bedless for the weekend.
