AddieNicole:  have you tried preowned sites? Preownedweddingdresses.com, oncewed.com, etc?

You can also ask the store (and other stores that carry it) if they would be willing to sell the sample at a discount.

AddieNicole:  If you go on pre-owned sites, you can put in a search for strapless, sweetheart, lace, tulle.  I’m looking to see if I find something similar.  About what size are you? Also, what is your budget range?

My friend purchased her dress at a Brides Against Breast Cancer event for under $400.  You might have to be a bit flexible with styles, but you can definitely find something affordable there, and because you look quite slim should actually be able to get some great gowns that were salon samples.

Here are similar dresess. I think you shold search the preowned sites for something similar. You know the dropped-waist ballgown looks good on you, and you will likely find a better quality dress than a replica (some are quite lovely, but still more expensive than you’d think to get that look).

I don’t have any helpful suggestions as I live in Australia, but just wanted to say that dress is amazingly beautiful and seems a bargain at $850!

I also had to chime in and say that dress is stunning on you! I can’t believe you found it for $850, that seems like a steal!

But if it’s out of budget, I’d say preownedweddingdresses is the best place to look! You can search by style and try to find something similar.

Wow that dress is stunning! At $850 I think it’s a steal but that’s probably because here in Australia wedding dresses are like, twice the price 🙁

If that’s out of your price range definitely check out preownedweddingdresses to see if there is something there.

AddieNicole:

$850 is a steal for that dress but anyway I would ask if the store allows you to make a deposit or layaway payments in place of paying for it up front and in full. I warn against the chinese sites because it won’t have near the same quality and for the extra couple hundred you might as well have the security of knowing exactly what you are buying  (for me the dress and venue should take priority in the wedding budget). Also inquire about discounts I work at a bridal boutique and sometimes if I have a bride really serious about purchasing but needs some financial help I will usually give a 15-20% discount depending on the gown.

To recommend a less expensive similar designer style Mori Lee has a similar dress (lace top tulle skirt – you could always add a sash) for around $550 retail
