Why can’t an eternity band be used? That doesn’t make any sense.

I was looking at eternity rings for a while and ended up getting something different.  I don’t know why someone told you that you can’t have an eternity ring as your wedding band.  Any ring you like can be a wedding band, IMO.

Have you thought about going the custom route? If you find a picture of something you like, show it to a jeweler and talk to them about what you like/don’t like or would want changed.

Also, I’ve never heard of eternity bands being for when you have children. I’ve seen plenty of people use them as wedding bands…. Although, my jeweler did say that they are harder to get resized if your weight ever fluctuates.

@mrstaylortobe:  go with a ring you love, you don’t “have” to do anything.  these aren’t set in stone rules.  if/when you have kids, your husband could give you some other jewelry (necklace, bracelet, earrings) to celebrate that joyous event.  you’re going to wear your wedding band for the rest of your life so don’t settle

also, you could get 3/4 eternity so there is some gold at the bottom should you ever need to resize it.

@mrstaylortobe:  Have you thought of a half eternity ring? That way you can please your mom’s beliefs, but still have the look and possibility of resizing easily if you ever need to?

I’d never heard of eternity bands only being for children – I think there’s probably a few Bees on here that have eternity bands as their wedding rings! I feel your pain, though. I’m really struggling to find a wedding ring that I like – I don’t even particularly want a wedding ring, but fiance seems to think it’s important.

Are you from Europe? My mom and family feels the same. These rings are also hard to engrave so keep that in mind if that is important to you. Other than that, you need to love and wear it.

I had a hard time finding a wedding band.. I needed a curved band because I have seven small diamonds on each side of my setting and none of them looked right. Just keep looking and you will eventually find something that you like!

My engagement ring has three different size side stones and I got an eternity wedding band. I decided to go with an eternity band and I love it! Go with what you want cause you don’t want to reget it down the road!

I think that’s total crap. You can get whatever you want! Can you post a picture of your ring?
