I went searching for a book on nutrition at the book store and found 4 book shelves of diet books but no books on basic nutrition. I don’t need to lose weight but I do need to start eating better. Do you have any suggestions for books about what your body’s nutritional needs are rather than losing so many pounds in so many weeks?

hmm, try googling nutriton for women or look around livestrong.com, i get a lot of articles from them about fitness/nutrition. Personally I find nutrition information rather cumbersom in that one person says one thing and other studies show something else is more effective. In terms od just plain eating healthier I have read a couple of books about eating “cleaner” or the idea that the less processed a food is the better it is for you.
I reccomend going to the library to get books til you find a style you like and agree with ( juicing, eating clean, eating raw, etc etc)
