I use an excel spreadsheet. It may not be physical enough for you, but it’s really useful!

That’s a good idea! Then, when you have chosen things, you can put them in your online master spreadsheet along with the cost and you’ll have a good estimate of how your costs are stacking up against your budget.

I have a plain old 3 ring binder.  I have two zipper pouches in the front, one for business cards and one for receipts.  I have dividers for each vendor/item (venue, catering, officiant, DJ, photographer, attire, accommodations, florist, cake, transportation, guest list, and budget.) I keep my contracts in each section of the binder with inspiration pics or pics of what I have already (my dress pic, fabric swatch, etc.)  I have a excel spreadsheet for my vendors with total amount, payments made, contact info, and if they’ve been paid.  I used the Knot’s guest list excel template. I have updated copies of guest list and budget in my binder, just in case my computer malfunctions.  But on my computer I have a wedding folder, divided the same way as my binder, and scanned all important docs into it and saved pictures there.  I also have that backed up on a flash drive, I’m a little paranoid that I’m going to lose stuff, can you tell?

i ordered the free wedding planning binder from 1800registry.com but its so big that i took all the info i wanted out of it and transferred it to a smaller three ring binder. i use the sheet protectors but i also invested in a whole punch because now i print out the info to all the prospect photographers/videograpers, etc and place them in the binder as well. The worksheets that came with the planner is great i keep my budget on their and also on weddingwire.com

I have a book that I paste things in, like a scrapbook. It has been my lifesaver, honestly.

I keep in it:

  • A checklist/to-do list for each month before the wedding
  • A vendor checklist (florist, DJ, etc with their names/numbers)
  • My inspiration board
  • Floral section- flowers during season of my wedding/inspiration pics
  • Invitation inspiration pics
  • Wedding menu

etc. etc…
