Tsavorite is a beautiful stone but it isn’t the best choice for everyday wear because they chip and scratch very easily.

You’d have a beautiful ring but the trade off would be not always being able to wear it.

My engagement ring will have a peridot. I’m also worried about the softness of the stone (it’s a 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale), but I will take care of the ring as best I can (take it off when doing dishes, showering, sleeping, or anything athletic) and see what happens. I started this thread about a month ago if you want to read the responses: Soft gemstone ring ladies: How have your rings held up?

I hope more Bees reply to this thread! Green is my favorite color, and there is such a wide variety of green stones in so many different shades — tsavorite, emerald, tourmaline, peridot, green amethyst, green moissanite, green sapphire…

I seem to be posting pics of my ring fairly frequently at the moment, but it certainly is green. Ah well, one more photo…

@emeraldgal:  That is huge and wonderful…Such an amazing size and colour! Got me drooling too.
