Quick background story. I got pregnant in September. Went for an ultrasound at 7 weeks in October and was told that the baby did not form. I had a natural miscarriage at 9 weeks (in November). I have since had a regular period and am now waiting to ovulate again (should be next week). I’m anxious to get started on trying again, but also very very scared. I’ve been given the go ahead by my OBGYN, but I’m terrified to have another miscarriage. Do you think it’s safe to try again or should i wait longer?

@tvv203: sorry for your loss sweetie! I haven’t miscarried but i’ve heard lots of stories on the bee about ladies who conceived perfectly healthy babies after a MC…
whatever happened was not yours or your DHs fault… There is no way to know what will happen next … I say if you’ve got your doctors approval then you should cross your fingers and jump right back in the deep end…
Good luck Hun!!!!

@tvv203: from what I’ve heard it seems women are more likely to have a positive outcome after a miscarriage. I think if the dr said go for it then give it a go!

Only you can decide if you’re ready to try again. My sis had a mc around 9 weeks, took a cycle off and got pregnant again with a healthy baby right away, which is fairly common if that eases your fears at all. Good luck and take all the time you need to grieve and heal from your loss.

Don’t take advice from randoms on the internet over your doctor’s. You asked whether it is safe. Your doctor already told you it was. Other peoples’ advice will just muddy the waters. best of luck with your decision. I hope you get a positive soon! I also worry about miscarriage but another Bee gave me wise advice recently-all you can do is take one day at a time. If we knew how to prevent miscarriage we would all do it.
